Purpose of Privacy Policy
At adoro we know the importance of respecting your privacy, and we want you to understand what information we collect and what we do with it. This Policy provides this information.

- Information regarding your policy-related activity, for example policy information, claims history, premiums and payment information.

- Request an insurance quote.
- Apply for insurance, pay premiums, or make changes to your policy.
- File a claim.
- Provide employment information.
- Fill out customer surveys.
- Speak with us by phone, in person, by email or by visiting our website or mobile app
- We may also collect personal information from others, such as joint marketing partners or lead providers.
Potential Use of Your Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any reason. Below are the reasons that we can share your personal information.
- For our everyday business purposes, for example to process transactions, pay claims and otherwise provide for the required administration of your policy.
- To offer our products or services to you.
- To jointly offer products or services with a different company to you.
- To communicate with your pet’s veterinary service providers in order to assess and evaluate claims.
- To comply with a valid court order, governmental or regulatory request, in connection with a fraud investigation, or as otherwise required by law.
Protection of Your Personal Information
We use a number of commercially reasonable and industry-standard technologies to protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use. For example, we use a PCI-certified provider to process credit card payments. We use the SSL protocol, secure servers, and security protocol to safeguard the information you submit over the internet. Email messages are not secure and may be vulnerable to viewing, alteration, and copying.
Tracking Technologies
We may use various methods and technologies to store or collect information (“Tracking Technologies”). Tracking Technologies may set, change, alter or modify settings or configurations on your Device. A few of the Tracking Technologies include, without limitation, the following (and subsequent technology and methods later developed):
- Cookies. We also want to make you aware of how we use online data collecting devices known as "cookies". Many commercial Internet websites use "cookies", which are files we place in your computer's browser to store your preferences relating to our website. If you disable "cookies" on your browser, the website will not remember your preferences. Our "cookies" are used only when you are visiting our website. While a code in the "cookie" file enables the website to label you as a particular user, "cookies" by themselves do not tell us your email address or other personally identifiable information. Web beacons may be invisible to you, but any electronic image or other web programming code inserted into a page or e-mail can act as a web beacon. Web beacons or similar technologies may be used for a number of purposes, including, without limitation, to count visitors to our Services, to monitor how users navigate our Services, to count how many e-mails that were sent were actually opened or to count how many particular articles or links were actually viewed.
- Embedded Scripts. An embedded script is programming code that is designed to collect information about your interactions with our Services, such as the links you click on. The code is temporarily downloaded onto your Device from our web server or a third-party service provider, is active only while you are connected to our Services and is deactivated or deleted thereafter.
- Browser Fingerprinting. Collection and analysis of information from your Device, such as, without limitation, your operating system, plug-ins, system fonts and other data, for purposes of identification.
- ETag, or Entity Tag. A feature of the cache in browsers. It is an opaque identifier assigned by a web server to a specific version of a resource found at a URL. If the resource content at that URL ever changes, a new and different ETag is assigned. Used in this manner ETags are a form of Device Identifier. ETag tracking may generate unique tracking values even where the consumer blocks HTTP, and/or HTML5 cookies.
- Recognition Technologies. Technologies, including application of statistical probability to data sets, which attempt to recognize or make assumptions about users and devices (e.g., that a user of multiple devices in the same user).
Tracking Technologies Usage. We may use Tracking Technologies for a variety of purposes, including:
- Strictly Necessary. We may use cookies or other Tracking Technologies that we consider are strictly necessary to allow you to use and access our Services, including cookies required to prevent fraudulent activity and improve security.
- Performance Related. We may use cookies or other Tracking Technologies that are useful in order to assess the performance of our Services, including as part of our analytic practices or otherwise to improve the content, products or services offered through our Services.
- Functionality Related. We may use cookies or other Tracking Technologies that are required to offer you enhanced functionality when accessing our Services, including identifying you when you sign in to our Services or keeping track of our specified preferences, including in terms of the presentation of content on our Services.

Analytic Services and Targeted Ads
We use third-party analytics services, like Google Analytics, to collect, monitor and analyze data. These services may track details about your online activities over time and across different websites. These services may also allow us and others to provide you with targeted advertisements or other content that you may be interested in based on your online activities.
The Google Analytics service tracks and reports website traffic and provides us insight into behavior information relating to visitor age, gender and interests. Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting give us insight into behavior to help us understand browsing behavior and give you a better experience when you visit our website. You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads using the Ads Settings.

SMS Terms and Conditions
Upon opting in to receive messages, the end user agrees to receive communications from adoro regarding their account and claims status. End users can opt-out by replying "STOP" or request more information by replying "HELP." Message frequency may vary, and standard message and data rates may apply. If you need assistance or have questions about our SMS service, please reply with "HELP" to any SMS message you receive, or contact our customer support team at info@adoropet.com No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The information above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

The federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and a variety of U.S. state privacy laws require adoro to provide a notice of privacy to certain U.S. consumers who obtain an insurance product or service for personal, household, or family use. If you are from a non-U.S. country, please be aware that the personal information you submit is being sent to a location in the United States. The data protection laws in the United States are likely different from those of the country in which you are located, and your personal information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in the United States according to laws of the United States. Please note we do not target any customers outside the United States.

- Speak with us by phone, in person, by email or by visiting our website or mobile app.
We may also collect personal information from others, such as affiliates, service providers, joint marketing partners or lead providers.
How might we use or disclose your personal information?
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any reason. We also do not use or disclose your personal information for any reasons other than those permitted by the CPRA. We may collect, use or disclose your personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide you with our services, including providing you quotes, enrollment information, and customer support;
- To communicate with you about your insurance policy;
- To communicate with you about a new offering;
- To improve our website and the content and features available to you, including to debug and to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality;
- To investigate, evaluate and pay claims, including communicating with veterinary hospitals that have treated your pet to collect your pets medical records and in connection with processing claims;
- To assist a third party in the performance of a business, professional or other insurance function on our behalf;
- To detect or prevent criminal activity, fraud, material misrepresentation or material non-disclosure in connection with an insurance transaction;
- To detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecute those responsible for that activity;
- To conduct actuarial or business analysis, or to conduct an audit of our operations;
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from insurance policies issued by us;
- To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, acquisition, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by us is among the assets transferred;
- To share with our attorneys, accountants, auditors or other professional advisors; and
- For legal reasons, including in connection with pending litigation, to comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, to respond to law enforcement requests, governmental agencies, or court orders.
We will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.
How long do you retain my personal information?
How long we retain your personal information depends on the purpose for which it was obtained and its nature. We will keep your personal information for no more than the time required to fulfil the purposes described in this privacy notice unless a longer retention period is permitted by law.
In specific circumstances we may store your personal information for longer periods of time so that we have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenges, or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation relating to your personal information or dealings.
How do I exercise my privacy rights under the CPRA?
As a reminder, we do not sell your information to anyone. You also will not receive any discriminatory treatment by us for exercising privacy rights conferred by the CPRA. - Specific pieces of information adoro has about you;
- Categories of personal information adoro has collected about you;
- Categories of sources from which adoro collects personal information;
- Categories of your personal information adoro has disclosed for a business purpose;
- Business or commercial purpose for collecting personal information; or
- If you are making a request for adoro to delete your personal information. Please note, however, that California law allows us to retain your personal information under certain conditions even if you have asked us to delete it, for example when retaining your personal information is necessary for us to administer your policy. We will notify you of any denial of your deletion request and the reason for such denial; or
- If you wish to limit the use of your personal information.
How do we protect your personal information?
We use a number of security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use. These measures include organizational, technological, contractual and other measures such as computer safeguards and secured files.
Why can’t I limit all sharing?
Federal law gives you the right to limit only (i) sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness; (ii) affiliates from using your information to market to you; and (iii) sharing for non-affiliates to market to you. The CPRA may give you additional rights to limit sharing, and you may email us at privacy@adoropet.com to limit sharing as allowed under the CPRA.
Can I see my personal information and/or ask to have it deleted?
Yes. If you are a California resident you have the right to request to see your personal information relating to the 12-month period preceding our request, or ask that your personal information be deleted, subject to certain exceptions under the CPRA. If you wish to file a request, please email us at privacy@adoropet.com, or call us at (855) 724-1502. Please be advised that we will process this request only if we can verify the identity of the requestor. Only you or a person legally authorized to act on your behalf may make a request related to your personal information. Please include your name, address, telephone number, and policy number (if applicable), and let us know what kind of information you would like to have removed. A verifiable request does not require you to have a policy with us. We will only use personal information provided in the request to verify the requestor’s identify and/or authority to make the request.
